ON THE PITCH 

Nottingham University Medics Football Club (NUMFC) is a football club made up of both students and doctors. Despite being a medical school football club, NUMFC welcomes players from a plethora of health and science courses including pharmacy, physiotherapy, sports rehab, sports science and nursing. As a result, we have over 100 current members ranging from 1st years to 5th years and over 500 alumni. 

 

Founded in 1971, NUMFC currently run three men's teams, and one women's team. The 1s and 2s play in the highly-competitive local Nottinghamshire East Midlands Public Authorities League (EMPAL) against other Nottinghamshire football clubs.The 3s play in the University run Intra-Mural Sports (IMS) league, competing against both University and Society football teams.

All 3 teams play their home games at Riverside Sports Complex, Nottingham, NG7 2SA.

 

The 1s compete in the Regional NAMS Cup throughout the year and both the 1s and 2s compete in the annual National NAMS Tournament which sees over 50 medical schools across the UK compete for the prestigious title - a title which we have won twice in our history. 

 

The whole club trains together midweek, usually on a Wednesday evening. We welcome all abilities, offering a relaxed 7v7 games for those who just want a kick around or structured training for the competing teams. Matches occur across the weekend, with the 3s playing on a Saturday and the 1s and 2s playing on Sunday.

OFF THE PITCH 

There is much more to NUMFC than just playing football. After every match we enjoy a pint our local pub and reflect on the match as friends. Wednesday and Friday socials are common for the pre-clinical years and the whole club engage on the traditional socials including Retro, AGM and mixed-sport socials. 

 

Throughout the year, NUMFC are involved with various annual events. Alumni, Tour, Varsity and National NAMS Tournament entail a mix of good football and great time afterwards.
